FR2 Fibre Ranger
The FR2 Fibre Ranger Fault Locator is a rugged, lightweight, hand-held, easy-to-use optical fault locator for multimode and singlemode applications. Using OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer) technology, the FR2 is designed to pinpoint faults in optical cable that can be over 20 kilometers away, with amazing accuracy. The FR2 operates at the industry standard wavelength of 1310nm, and can display the distance to the fault in meters or feet. Useful applications for the FR2 include testing: Wide Area Networks (WANs), telecommunication spans of up to 20 kilometers, Fibre-to-the-Curb, installation and maintenance of multimode and singlemode fibre cabling, and military systems.
Excellent tool for locating faulty connectors, end-of-fibre, and breaks in multimode and singlemode fibre cable.
Easy to use features:
- Large LCD display and a single measure push-button for activating the unit's measure operation.
- Ability to detect up to seven multiple events with the push of a single button. Battery operated for field use.

F6222 Optical Fibre Identifier
The F6222 Optical Fibre Identifier is a rugged, easy-to-use installation and maintenance instrument that identifies live optical fiber's by detecting the optical signals being transmitted through a singlemode fibre. By utilizing local detection technology (non-destructive macro-bend detection), the F6222 eliminates the need to open the fibre at the splice point for identification; eliminating the probability of interrupting service. This unit also detects low frequency tones at 270 Hz, 1000 Hz and 2000 Hz. When traffic is present on the fibre under test, an audible tone can be heard as well as the traffic direction, which is indicated by LEDs illuminating on the probe. During installations, maintenance, re-routing, or restorations it is often necessary to isolate a specific fibre without disrupting service. A light source such as Wilcom's Model FS1316 used in conjunction with the Optical Fibre Identifiers can make the job a lot easier.
Model F6222 includes:
- A carrying pouch containing three easy to use field interchangeable adapter heads.
- 900 µm buffered fibre, ribbon or 250 µm coated fibre and 3mm jacketed fibre.
